Taste and See

“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him” Psalms 34:8.

Taste and see.

How does one explain that? What did the Psalmist mean?

As you are reading this whether during your morning coffee, afternoon tea, or breaktime for refreshing, sit comfortably, take a sip, and close your eyes for a moment while your taste buds register the experience and begin to relay messages to your brain. If you do not have a drink, just use your imagination for a moment.

Now open your eyes and think about what you just experienced.

Can you picture ‘little buds’ joyously scurrying about relaying the experience to your brain? How much more, when we taste and experience the goodness of the Lord, will our heart buds blossom with joy and be blessed by His very presence?

This is the bountiful goodness of the Lord. Meeting joy, unending, and full on. It is a promise fulfilled. The Bread of Life, the Word alive in us. Asit is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God” Matthew 4:4.

God created us like a fine-tuned machine, intricate, detailed, and specific. And He designed all we need to love, live, and maintain our beautiful bodies in ultimate health and an abundant long life, in His service and for His glory.

Have you heard it said that ultimate health and long life are what we all aim to achieve? Why are we aiming to achieve what has already been given to us? Our Lord lives in us. The Well of Living Water, never ending. When we delve into His Well, we will never thirst again.

In John 4:14, Jesus tells us, “Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.

Oh, my goodness! A fountain of water is springing up! Thank You Jesus.

From the beginning in the Garden of Eden, our God gave us His delicacies in abundance for our pleasure and nutrition. There were barley, figs, olives, pomegranates, grapes, and honey, to mention a few. Not only were these delicious delectables, but each one is a powerhouse of nutrition and maintenance for us, His beautiful creation. Our perfect God; wonderful works.

I am made in His design and He fills me, and “daily loads me with His benefits,” Psalm 68:19.

Approach His throne of grace, delve into the Well of Life that lives in you. And experience Him today. He is so close. You can taste and see His goodness.
